About Mike

A writer focused on craft – pushing work to always be better, energizing colleagues, and never accepting the status quo as qua patet orbis.

Here goes.

I live in Los Angeles, via Milwaukee, via Chicago, via Bolingbrook.

I call all of them home.

For over a decade, I’ve been a Swiss army knife of copywriting and creative leadership.

My work for 800-pound companies and 50+ brands spans from creative concepts and social media to UX and technical documentation. I’ve seen pretty much everything, and the things I haven’t seen are things I pick up absurdly quickly.

I’m good at writing about other people and other things, getting into the heads of an audience, transforming skimpy creative briefs into deeply engaging campaigns, and being a sharp collaborator with an exceptional sense for getting the best work out of teammates.

I wrote a television pilot about being a copywriter.

I wish I could write songs.

I believe in the Oxford comma.

I don’t believe in Bigfoot.

If the story’s solid, I’ll go along with the opposite of either.

Also? I once found a copy of Willennium in the snow.

(It was a really good day.)
